Who is the best captain for FPL Gameweek 14?

Matchweek 13 was one to forget for the more than 1.1 million Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers who made it Erling Haaland (£14.9m) Their Captain Three. The Norwegian was only able to muster one shot as he took a shot at home for the first time since Gameweek 2.

In the first midweek Gameweek of the season, Manchester City travel to Fulham, a team that Haaland has conceded six goals in as many games.

As usual on Captain Sensible, we consider whether there is a possibility of seeing further from Haaland this week, especially with Arsenal and Manchester United enjoying interesting matches.

First, we will assess the captain’s poll on the field. We will then analyze player and team statistics, Rate My Team (RMT) and Premier Fantasy Tool rankings to determine the best captains for Gameweek 14 ahead of Tuesday’s 18:00 GMT deadline.

Captain’s Poll

Once again, Haaland leads the Fantasy Football Scout captains poll, albeit with less support than last week. Only 50% of the site’s users believe the Norwegian, who has scored 14 goals in 13 league games, is the best choice for Matchday 13.

Bukayo Saka (£10.1m) is the only other player to receive at least 10% public support. The England midfielder, who has returned 21 points in the last three Matchweeks, faces Brentford at the Emirates.

Elsewhere, three other players could gain more than 5% support: Bruno Fernandes (£8.9 million), Antoine Semenyo (£7.8 million) and Bryan Mbeumo (£8.6 million). Of the three, only the first one counterattacked in the final match.
